Lubrication/Filters

How often have you heard the phrase "oil, lube, and filter"? If you want you vehicle to keep running without any problems, you must check the engine (motor) oil regularly. Motor oil is a lubricant. In engines, there are parts which move against each other, and the friction wastes otherwise useful power by converting the kinetic energy to heat. It also wears away those parts, which could lead to lower efficiency and degradation of the engine. This increases fuel consumption, decreases power output, and can lead to engine failure. Due to the heat generated in engines, the oil will degrade over time losing its ability to act as a lubricant. The rule of thumb is to change the oil and oil filter every 3000 miles or 3 months.
